Reduction Linocut

Part of a series of work focusing on beautiful plants that thrive even in difficult environments. Honeysuckle is one such climber that adapts to it's conditions, supporting other plants around it as it grows and providing vibrant flowers for wildlife and us all to enjoy.

Reduction linocuts, like this one, are created by gradually cutting the design into a lino printing plate in layers, with each colour printed carefully on top of the previous one as you cut more away. It requires good registration and the ability to think through the colours and shapes backwards!
